Ford is committed to being a fuel economy leader in each segment in which it competes.

However, while items like the comfy leather seats, voice-controlled Sync system, and long list of standard features might draw customers, it’s the impressive powertrain that will ultimately sell the compact car.The 2011 Ford Fiesta’s secret is the astoundingly good 6-speed PowerShift automatic transmission. Not only does it contribute heavily to the class-leading 40 mpg highway rating, but it’s a real workhorse providing a silky-smooth ride. Fiesta is built for North American markets at Ford’s manufacturing facility in Cuautitlan, Mexico. The vehicle goes on sale in four-door sedan and five-door hatchback body styles  with the sedan starting at $13,995, including destination charges at Ford dealerships this summer.Fiesta face are sweeping, elongated headlamps that frame and connect the hood to muscular, sculpted front fenders. Available in sporty five-door hatchback or four-door sedan body styles, Fiesta provides ample space for occupants and their gear.The Fiesta features a standard five-speed manual transaxle with gear ratios selected to offer spirited off-the-line performance and fuel economy for drivers who desire three pedals and a stick shift to maximize the driving experience.Hatchbacks are offered in SE and SES trim levels, while sedans come in S, SE, and SEL versions. The sole engine for all models is a 120-horsepower 1.6-liter 4-cylinder that teams with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed dual-clutch automated manual that behaves much like an automatic. S and SE models have standard 15-inch wheels. SEL and SES have 16s, with 17s optional.

The safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain-side airbags, front-side airbags, and a driver knee airbag. A tilt and telescopic steering wheel, height-adjustable driver seat, and capless fuel filler are standard. Among the available features are Ford's Sync voice-activated control for cell phones and MP3 players, sunroof, keyless engine start, leather upholstery, and heated front seats.The warranty is of 36-month/36,000-mile basic new-vehicle limited warranty applies to all components other than normal wear and maintenance items. Additional 60-month warranties cover the powertrain for 60 months/60,000 miles and corrosion perforation for 60 months with no mileage limitation.
